The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic men’s organization founded in 1882 at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, CT by Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney.

We are committed to the following principles:

  • UNITY as a Catholic men’s lay organization
  • CHARITY to those in need, and
  • FRATERNITY with our brother Knights.

Leo Council 1130 was established on June 18, 1906 and has over one hundred members from six parishes located throughout the City of Thunder Bay’s north ward.

Our work in the community supports the six Churches under our umbrella, promotes Family & Youth activities and provides Outreach to the greater community while promoting Catholic values.  Some of these activities include, but are not limited to:

  • participation in various ministries within our parishes.
  • student scholarships and promotion of student activities in schools
  • participation in social activities in long term care facilities
  • outreach to the Dew Drop Inn, St. Vincent de Paul and the Catholic Family Development Center.
  • fundraising and financial support to local charities.
